HDW-790P model stand out specially for the possibility of recording in 1080/50i and 1080/25P and for the introduction of new gamma curves, such as Hypergamma.
Super 35mm
Exmor Super 35mm CMOS Sony camcorders are part of Digital Cinematography gamma because of its superior image quality and the ability to achieve a film look, recording at
23,98P and using a S-Log workflow.
These camcorders have a Super 35mm sensor of the same size as Super 35mm film which was specifically developed for digital cinematography. It’s positioning inside the camcorder chassis is exactly the same as in a 35mm filming camera, providing the same optic performance with 35mm cinema lenses. To facilitate the integration of this kind of lenses, the camera have a PL Mount adapter.
We have two camera models in this format, Sony PMW-F3 and PMW-F5.
PMW-F3 camcorder uses a CMOS sensor of 3,5 megapixel, with a T11 sensibility and a noise signal relation of 63 dB. Recording is done in multiple formats, interlace or progressive, using MPEG-2 4:2:0 codec with bitrates up to 35 Mb/s.
PMW-F5 has a 4K CMOS sensor with 11,6 megapixel, a T14 sensibility and a noise signal relation of 57 dB. Multiple recording formats can be chosen, from MPEG-2 4:2:2, MPEG-4 SStP and XAVC up to 2K. Using an AXS-R5 external recorder is possible to record 16 bit 4K RAW in AXSM cards.
